Tencent Cloud Elastic MapReduce (EMR) is a cloud-hosted Hadoop managed service provided by Tencent Cloud. It provides users with convenient Hadoop cluster deployment, software installation, configuration modification, monitoring and alerting, auto scaling, and other features, delivering a secure and stable big data processing solution for enterprises and users.
This section introduces the EMR API interfaces, all of which are API 3.0 interfaces. You can call these APIs to perform operations on Tencent Cloud EMR, such as creating a cluster, querying instances, scaling out nodes, and terminating clusters.

Common EMR API terminology is listed in the table below:

| Cluster | The basic management unit of EMR, consisting of multiple nodes, providing big data storage and computational capacity. |
| Node | An individual node in the cluster. By role, it can be divided into types such as Master, Core, and Task. |
